The competent Ford F-150 range doesn't disappoint with its 2023 lineup. It offers power, choices, and a list of extras as you move away from the base model, the XL, to the swanky and rugged Raptor. Ford knows just how to get the most out of this popular line and easily transitions from the workplace to cross-country road trips.
A Closer Look at the Trims
There's no shortage of options with the 2023 F-150 range and as you move up in the trims, so do the features and prices.
F-150 XL
With a starting MSRP of $33,695, this is the base model in the range and is considered an all-American workhorse that easily adapts to work environments such as farms and construction sites. Take your office anywhere thanks to the tailgate work surface which includes a tailgate step. The SuperCab option offers a 170-degree rear door.
F-150 XLT
At first it may seem like there's not much difference between the XL and XLT, considering the XLT has a starting MSRP of $41,800. The difference in price may seem like it's attributed simply to having a wider range of options. However, the XLT model offers access to Ford Co-Pilot 360 2.0, which offers a wide range of driver-assist technology.
F-150 Lariat
The Lariat has a starting MSRP of $57,480 and offers the blind spot information system (BLIS) with cross-traffic alert and trailer tow coverage. Intelligent access with push-button is a standard feature. This happens to be the first trim in the range that offers 18-inch wheels as standard with its 18-inch chrome-like PVD wheels. The advanced security pack is standard, and so is dual-zone temperate control.
F-150 King Ranch
The first thing you notice about the King Ranch is the 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with its light caribou-painted pockets and King Ranch wheel ornaments that come standard with this trim. With a starting MSRP of $63,005, it offers rain-sensing wipers and a built-in navigation system with a three-year trial. It also features the Ford Co-pilot 360 assist 2.0 feature in addition to the Ford Co-pilot 360 2.0 driver assist program.
Platinum
At a slight increase in price to an MSRP of $64,695, the Platinum offers much the same as the King Ranch, plus a 360-degree camera pack for easier parking and backing out. There's also auto start-stop technology that improves fuel efficiency. While it boasts 20-inch wheels like the King Ranch, it features a simple polished aluminum look.
Limited
The Limited is the 2023 F-150 trim for the avid adventurer who wants to take the big toys out on the road. It features adaptive steering and pro-trailer back-up assist and trailer reverse guide. It also has the Ford Blue Cruise 1.0 with Active park Assist 2.0 and forward sensing system. There are onboard scales with the smart hitch feature and this is the first trim to include 22-inch wheels as standard. The starting MSRP is $84,910 and this is the top trim for the 2023 F-150 range.
Tremor
If the Limited is out of your price range but you still want a great adventure companion, the Tremor is it. While many of the really nice features are available as extras, it gives you the ability to customize the features to suit your needs. It's one up from the Lariat and features trailer reverse guidance and a 4x4 drivetrain as standard. The starting MSRP is $60,970.
Raptor
The Raptor is a hardy work pickup designed to simplify a day on the job site. It's one up from the Platinum with a starting MSRP of $76,775 and features several additional exterior lighting options. It includes an interior work surface.
Engine, Transmission, and Drivetrain Options
Just as with the trims, the F-150 range doesn't disappoint with its engine options, which are:

Whether you go for the base engine or the high-output options, they're all paired up with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Many of the trims offer both rear- and all-wheel-drive options.
Entertainment and Interiors
While the base models have basic AM/FM capacity with the option to sign up for SiriusXM with 360L, higher-end trims offer a B&O Unleashed sound system by Bang & Olufsen. Higher trims may also offer built-in navigation with a three-year trial period. The SYNC 4 with Enhanced Voice Recognition is standard on the higher-end trims, and the touchscreen options range from 8-inch to 12-inch capacitive touchscreens. All trims have access to the FordPass Connect 4G LTE WiFi hotspot.
Safety Features
Safety is a big plus on the F-150 range and some basic safety features to look forward to across all trims include the pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking and post-collision braking. It also features a hill start assist and reverse sensing system. The AdvanceTrac with roll stability control (RSC) uses a combination of braking and engine power to assist steering through tight corners.
Some of the safety features to look forward to in the top trims include the lane-keeping system and hill descent control. Hitching a trailer is also made easier thanks to the pro trailer backup assist, trailer reverse guidance, and blind spot information system (BLIS) with trailer tow coverage.
